“What is RSD?” is a site developed to help those suffering from chronic pain and who have been diagnosed with Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome (RSD) (also called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) to understand what it is they are dealing with and to suggest ways to manage the pain and maintain their quality of life. Please note the disclosure below, identified by the “**”, which exists here and on each page of the site. You should not substitute any information read on this site for the advice of a licensed medical professional.

I, the developer of this site, am a chronic pain sufferer, having been diagnosed with CRPS in 2011. After suffering for over 3 years with intermittent pain and tingling, from 2009 to 2011 the condition worsened to include periodic edema, severe inflammation and noticeable muscle atrophy. A young doctor with a specialization in pain and pain management diagnosed the condition and recommended a regimen that has led to significant improvement. A mix of medicine to facilitate muscle relaxation and address neuropathy, combined with a procedure to block sympathetic nerve response has been instrumental in allowing me to maintain comfort, having largely eliminated the chronic pain symptoms.
